Paul graduated from the University of Western Australia with a Bachelor of Jurisprudence and a Bachelor of Laws, he was admitted to practice in Western Australia in 1989, and he has practiced as a barrister and solicitor for over 36 years.

Paul is highly experienced in civil litigation, including contract disputes, regulatory issues, administrative law matters, matters involving legislative interpretation and contractual interpretation, negligence claims, product liability claims, insurance and risk management issues, transport and logistics matters, and building and construction disputes.  Paul has appeared as Counsel in most WA and Federal Courts and tribunals, including the State Administrative Tribunal and the Administrative Appeals Tribunal.  He has represented clients in relatively small matters, in complex and large-scale litigation, and in appeal proceedings.

Before joining Hammond Legal, Paul worked in first-tier law firms, for the Australian Government Solicitor and as in-house roles, including as General Counsel at UWA.  Paul acts for clients in the private sector, the public sector, and for government trading enterprises.

Paul is a versatile lawyer with a very pragmatic approach to his client problems.

Paul is a member of the Liquor Commission of Western Australia, and he has served on the governing boards of independent schools and of the Youth Legal Service.
